What kind of relationships have you worked out with other web sites?

Besides the basic, reciprocal links, discount on each others memberships, what other models have you used to work with other organizations?

- Entire pages devoted to each others site. I write a short optimized one for their site about my site and they do the same. We put each others page up and then make sure it is internally linked.
- Home page links. Very difficult to work out, but often mutually beneficial. The page rank boost is reciprocal. It is worth it.
- The recent trend of links programs obfuscation. Hiding them under other content. Such as fake awards programs and fake guest books.
- Topic directories with each listing getting its own page and longer description (a variation of the first item above).
- Very close reciprocal traffic exchange from targetted pages. Often content will logically lead to another sites pages of similar topics. They do the same in return.

provide an RSS feed of your updated content, let other web sites knowand provide an easy way to display your headlines on their site.

I have well-known 'niche' authors, photographers, and even print publishing houses contributing articles and in-depth content in return for links from their bio/credits to their own sites.

Excellent feedbacks! Thank you!

Brett_Tabke, a bit of clarification for me on some of the models:

>Home page links. Very difficult to work out, but often mutually
>beneficial. The page rank boost is reciprocal. It is worth it.

This is a simple hyperlink on the front page, right?

>The recent trend of links programs obfuscation. Hiding them under
>other content. Such as fake awards programs and fake guest books.

This just doesn't sound ethical, but to understand it, I would place a fake award logo on the page, and the logo is linked to their site? I am not sure how that works with guest book. If they are my guests, how can you tranfer them to someone else's site?

Thanks again for everyone. Great ideas. These are all excellent.

I haven't actually used, or even seen, a fake guest book, but presumably instead of a page of reciprocal links titled "my buddies", these same links would be concealed in an innocent-looking guestbook.
