Have some problems accessing my apache (Apache/1.3.31 (Win32) PHP/4.3.7) server.
At the server itself I have no problems accessing sites using the server-hostname. But from another computer on the same LAN I can't seem to access my sites using the same server-hostname. If I use the ip-adress of the server I can access it, but only then.
I have a theory that when using the server-hostname the client will first go out on the WWW and lookup the hostname through DNS, but the LAN is behind a firewall, so maybe it can't be looked up, but I have doubts about this beeing what's causing my trouble.
Anyone have any idea what may be wrong?

I won't pretend to know your entire network setup but I believe you are correct. If you are running a typical Windows peer-to-peer network with only TCP/IP running, you won't find other computers by name. There are a number of options here, one being installing the correct protocol(s) and joining a common workgroup.
There is an active thread running right now that may help you though. See Setting up a home network [webmasterworld.com] for more information.
