sending automated E-Mail

How to send automated E-Mail for ex. when user click on forgot password?

of course I have to get his password from the database but how to send it with automated E-Mails..

My qs. is what kind of software or application that send these E-Mails and how to integrated to my site.

There are scripts already for this. You might seach hotscripts for a PHP or ASP solution, depending on which one you desire
