Hi

I am new at this and would like to put a video presentation done on cd-rom onto my website. Could someone please tell me where to begin and the in's and outs of how to do it?

Thanx I will greatly appreciate any suggestions and comments.

If you want to stream the video, you will need a streaming video server, such as Darwin, Windows, or Real (depending on the format.)

If you just want to serve a video file (without streaming) you just need to place it on your site and link it.

My current job is pretty much streaming video, so if you need hints or suggestions, I'll be happy to help. :)

Hi Evinrude:

Thanks a million for your quick reply. I would really apppreciate any help you can give me.

Here's what I have. I have a cd-rom 82.1 mb and 8 minutes long. It is done in real player format and is saved as a mpg.

How do I upload the cd to my server? and then what do you sugggest. Streaming video only works for people on DSL does it not. I really want everyone to be able to view the video. OR< should I put on a broadband link and a dial up link? If yes, how would I go about that?

Thanks again,
Linda

An application, such as Discreet Cleaner, can take your file and output it in multiple formats good for dialup and broadband users. I'm sure there's some open-source solution out there somewhere, but Cleaner is what I use. Look around and you can find something that fits your budget.
