Discussion on forum

Alright. I have a site that displays many of my products with a short headline and description of the product.

I've seen other places that had a "discussion" link right next to this kind of thing that leads into a forum. The forum topic relates directly to this item. How do I do something like this?

Currently I have a database of products, headlines, description and would like to integrate that into a forum for discussion on each item. Confusing?

Well first you need to setup the forum. phpBB is good if you're running PHP/Linux or Snitz Forums is the alternative for ASP. Both easy to setup and free. Try this section for more forum info:

[webmasterworld.com...]

Configure the forum with each category relating to the particular product you want discussed (titled the same), then add the button/link on your products pages to go directly into the relevant category on the forum.

Its a fair bit of work but will be worth it in the long run.
