Hi,

I have just stumbled across a problem .....

I am trying to validate one of my web pages to XHTML 1.0. However, this page has a flash movie embedded in it. When i run the page through the W3C validators, the whole page is valid apart from the flash movie.

Can this be fixed in someway with style sheets?

The errors i get are for attributes that are automatically put in including: "src", "quality", "width", "height", "pluginspage" and "embed".

Does anyone know a fix for this?

Cheers,
Brian

P.s. It is Flash 6 i am using.

You can try a search for "Flash Satay", but the method is flaky at best.

Although the flash movie won't pass validation, it doesn't have any effect on the well-formedness of the XHTML document. Unless you have a particular requirement to have every page validate 100%, I would let this one go.

Cool, thanks for this. I had a look at Flash Satay last night and used it. It does seem to make the page valid - at the sacrafice of all the tags.

I don't know exactly what the importance level of all the tags are, but im guessing they are there for a reason.

I was thinking of just putting it back to its invalid state. My onle worry (or annoyance) was that the whole page would be valid other than this .... although i think i would be more comfortable with that than deleting tags for no real reason.

Cool, thanks for your input ..... appreciated.
