HI all, this is my first post to this list so hello to you all.

We've just purchased a Compaq Proliant ML370 PIII1000/128/256 NT Box. At the moment we run Lotus Domino on our web server, but we are not continuing with that platform. I want to move the existing sites into dynamic sites, I was planning to use ColdFusion5. But which server goes best with that? Also, I need a database with this (oracle good, too much $), any suggestions there?

Any help you could provide would be great.

TIA

Justa.

Welcome Justa. Not to be ignorant but I would make sure I wasn't running IIS and run Apache with MySql.

Thanks for the welcom toolman. I've already told them that IIS was out of the question, plus my boss wants to stay away from Microsoft Products. Will apache run smoothly with ColdFusion on an NT box?

I have no idea. I just wanted to make sure if you were sitting on the fence not to go with IIS so maybe it would help reduce the reason I spent 4 hours rebuilding my log analysis system today because of "extreme amounts of unnecessary traffic". ;)

Someone who knows will be along shortly. :)

I believe it is.

Above is an old howto for 4.5. I couldn't find anything newer, but they still claim support for apache.
