"Payment through Paypal (Visa - Mastercard - American Express - Discover)"...

I want to make payment for the BlueFind directory. Does this mean I have to open up a PayPal account to do so?

I want to know about this for other stuff I need to pay for too. To me it seems to say I can use a credit card but at the same time seems to imply I need a PayPal account.

Can someone please clarify this for me?

To open the PayPal account itself you need to provide credit card and (optionally) current account particulars. What happens then is that whenever you make a payment by PayPal your credit card is automatically charged (minus any money that has gone INTO your PayPal account. The advantage is that you don't have to fiddle around as you do when you make a payment using the credit card directly.

If they have a Paypal payment button on their site you do not have to create a personal account. It will just ask you for your credit card info at checkout and that's it.

If you have to go directly to the Paypal site to send money because they only provide you with an email address (for where to to send the money) you will have to create an account.
