Hi,

Maybe the wrong forum but thought I would post here. I notice that amounts of links and who links to me varies from SE to SE. Should I take an inbound link to my site found on say MSN and submit it to Google as Google does not see it? Ethics aside is there a reason other than the page was never submitted to that particular SE as to why the SE does not see the return link?

Confused,

Brian

GWJ,

This has come up plenty of times........some people think that it is unethical and some people don't.

I think that it is okay for you to submit the link page if it is not indexed in the particular search engine. The search engines, especially Google, have expressed that they will not ban sites for resubmission.

Maybe you are doing them a favor........

Regarding your original question......I suppose it is up to the webmaster if he submits the site. I think that most of the time the SE will eventually pick it up.

Hi Brian,

Every single SE index is unique. Google has been seen not to list inbound links with low pageranks. I routinely submit a global list of inbound links to all free SE that uses link popularity. Google seem to ignore them.
