Tell-Tale Signs of Duplicate Content Penalty

I was wondering what the tell-tales of a duplicate content penalty are?

My pages rank 300th and have been hovering there for months. I could be nothing OR it could be duplicate content penalty (because of Mambo).

My pages still have 2-5 PR. Are there any tell-tale signs of penalty? (Like 0 PR)?

Thanks!

Try searching for a very specific phrase, like the title of an article. If other version(s) of that content do well, and you are nowhere, that could be a duplicate content issue.

How do you think Mambo is creating a duplication issue?

I realized yesterday that on my site using mambo, google has 3 listings for each page on my site. (Meaning that google thinks I have the same content on three pages for every article on my site).

1. Regular Page
2. Printable Version
3. PDF Version

I have a 100 page site with over 300 listings, 1/3 regular pages, 1/3 printable version of the page, 1/3 PDF version of the page.

However all the pages on my site are listed and most have PR of 2-3 with my homepage having a PR of 5.

I just did a search for one of our more popular author's name and our page came up third.

1. His homepage.

2. Bio on him from a big print magazine.

3. His article with us.

OK, I see, you mean duplication within your own site. I doubt if this is a problem - you could add a NOINDEX tag to the printable version template if you are worried. I wouldn't expect the PDF version to be an issue.
