HI, i only recently realised that adding data in the No script tag was actually spamming - D'oh!. I want to avoid this route as i have heard that Google Penalises this, does anyone know if this is true?

Anyway the reason for doing this is that one of my sites is in a competitive market and using the No script tag (hidden to users) i have used mis -spellings of these popular terms and as u guessed people are finding my site because of them typing keywords in wrong.

Does anyone know how i can get rid of the no script tag but somehow keep the mis-spelled keywords? i was thinking about having a box at the bottom of the page with 'other terms to find us' or similar but it still looks messy and unprofessional.

Thanks

Well, you COULD write pages for misspellings, and include misspellings in your metas (some engines DO look at them still) You'd have to keep the content unique. Then, maybe link the pages from a section of your sitemap called "Common Product Misspellings" or something.

Thats a good idea.
Do you know if Google peanalises for use of the no script tag? i use it alot you see and alot of my terms are picked up from there which worries me.

Do the penalize now? Well, not activly as far as I know (but a well placed email from a competitor to google could make them do it passively). Could they add it in the next major update? Most certainly.

If a technique worries you, then you have to make the decision as to whether you want to take that risk or not.

Because my site is new and as i said in a competitive area, my only hits or at least most are from misspellings. mmmmmm its a hard one as this does generate revenue but at the same time it is spamming which i did not mean to do
