Traffic problem, site with great potencial

I would hire somebody with experiences to help me to get traffic to my site

I do run a political website, but the problem is that the traffic is really small.
I dont understand how come, because the domain name is good and even the Google and Yahoo shows my website at the first page.
Can anyone help me?

I will welcome any recommendetion.

If you have top ranks and no traffic, then you are probably targeting the wrong terms. Take a wander on over to the Overture search term suggestion tool or **** and find some better phrases for your site and then work to optimize for them.
