reverse links to content pages

I run a database-driven website with hundreds of plant portraits, and get a good bit of traffic, mostly from Google. I haven't tried too hard to get incoming links, and know of only a few (my home page still has PR4, I'm not complaining). But I am curious to know about other links to my site that I'm not aware of. I know how I can get reverse links from Google for any one page with the link: prefix, but don't feel like doing it for each page (I'd get very few results). Is there a way to find all inbound links for my whole domain?

I used the link commands in Yahoo and you have more than a few sites linking to you. I don't know a way to tell ALL of the sites linking to yours, but you can get a general idea by trying the different seach engines.

Thanks wellzy! I did try that, and Yahoo indeed came up with some that Google doesn't, using "link:http://www....com". But they are all still links to my home page. I know for a fact (because I've tried a few pages) that there are links to content pages as well - is there a way to find those in one fell swoop?

Maybe search using this format:

instead of link:www.domian.com
try searching for just domain

See where your name is mentioned and it should show you who is linking to you, no matter which particular page they are linking to and even if the particular engine is not showing or counting as back links. There are obviously a few problems with this, like just off the top of my head I dont think that will tell you of image links.

Thanks Neo,
I agree that that yields some other results, not found by the link: approach. I believe it only works if the domain name is spelled out in the text of the page, not merely in a link anchor (this was true for 100% of the results found), but I may be wrong. If so, if my site name is spelled out (Rob's plants, instead of robsplants) in the page text, I wouldn't find that link. Still, a useful addition to my toolchest :-)

the way to search for links in Yahoo is:

linkdomain:example.com

that will show *all* links to the site, whether they are with the WWW or not, and all pages with links to the site that Yahoo has found.

Also if you want to exclude your own site from the list of links, try:

linkdomain:example.com -site:example.com

Excellent! That works wonderfully - thanks much.
