I need to find specific words in over 100 .htm files. Instead of opening each one and manually searching each file for the words that need to replaced, is there a way or program to seach these files and replace what I need to replace within a few clicks? I.E. search for myname in index.htm, new.htm, etc. and replace myname to compworld in all files?

Thanks,

dreamweaver makes a pretty good job of this if you have access to it.

my personal favorite for this is NoteTab. You can have it search and replace an entire disk and choose to keep a back up of the original, confirm before the replace or just do a mass replace (and back up) without confirming - dangerous and time consuming if you are not 100% sure ;)

Try textpad. Although you have to open the files, you can open all at once. Global find and replace works very fast.
