Are there relatively easy instructions on how to create an RSS feed for an ecommerce site? Is this possible?

Thanks,

What do you want to put in your feed? Special offers? Price changes? New Products? Remember, syndication is for news, so you have to have some news.

That's not true, syndication can mean anything -- content, news, prices etc, but the thing is you will be seeing the stuff you put in being known as "news" by several RSS search engines if (when) they get found..

Tons of them. Try some Google Magic [google.com].

I contend that a public rss feed is for news. Of, course a specialised xml feed can have many uses.

for ad hoc special offers it's probably best to make your feed by hand. Many sites have examples of the syntax. Fill in the information you want to give, put the file on the web and you're done. Change it when you've something to add.

Have a look at the Webmaster World feed [webmasterworld.com] to see how it's coded, if that's what's puzzling you. It's easier than you think.
