Industry or topic specific search engines and directories.

I would like to know if there is a list somewhere of engines and directories concentrating on more specific topics. For instance, an se exclusively for education related websites..and the like.

I had good results browsing major directories like Yahoo! or ODP to find specialised ones. Did you try
[dir.yahoo.com...] ?
