I've been searching for a reliable, inexpensive way to include an interactive map on a site that I'm planning (think along the lines of those maps you get when you use a store locator) Does anyone know of inexpensive sources. I checked the obvious one at Mapquest and they're minimum price is $4,400 which is way over my head. I appreciate your help. Thanks in advance everyone.

Im not sure if this is what your looking for, but Bravenet offers a map where users can plot where they came from.

Thanks Kodak, Thats close but not quite what I want. I'd like to be able to do it on a smaller scale, ie. a city rather than the entire world. I'd also like for someone to be able to type in 123 ABC Ln. New York, NY and have a dot appear on the map at that location. So I guess I'm looking for something a bit more sophisticated. I can afford to pay but I'd rather it not be as expensive as Mapquest.

Cheaper alternatives to mapquest are Multimap and Maporama.

Thanks again kodaks. I'll definitely check them out. Anyone else have other suggestions?

I used a free PHP script from Sanisoft called "Ziploc" that you can use for applications where you'd like customers to find a "store" or "dealer" near them.

... uses a database of zip codes and latitude and longitude, which is included.
