Toolbar Survey

which do you use?

Which toolbar(s) do you use (like google or Yahoo) if any. I use Google and Ebay's toolbar. And, what is the main reason you use them. I use my google toolbar for search and popup blocker, and ebay toolbar for checking listings.

When I used Internet Explorer I used the Google toolbar. I also used Alexa for a little while before I realized it sucked :P Now I don't use any because I no longer use IE.

In Firefox the only toolbar I have installed is Web Developer 0.8.

Google is always up on both machines.

Alexa is up on one machine, and loaded but hidden on the other (solely to keep the ranking up :) - don't use it for searching )

I loaded Yahoo when it came out, and deleted it an hour later. Absolutely HORRIBLE.

On IE I have lots installed, Alexa, Google, Yahoo, msn and a9.com

I use Alexa for the traffic data, Google has the best search toolbar, Yahoo for the services (mail etc) msn for the highlight viewer and a9.com for the history option :)

It is a lot, people always ask me what all that stuff is on my browser :)
For regular browsing, I use Firefox and it's the complete opposite, everything on one bar, with even some of the menu buttons removed.

I use FireFox with all menus, navigation buttons, Google search bar, and address bar on one row. The Web Developer Toolbar comes next, followed by the tab row.

Naturally I've edited userChrome.css to make everything as small as possible; consequently those three rows only take about as much vertical space as a single toolbar row on IE! ;)

Alexa's website has a web ranking based on the data from their toolbar. Since their toolbar has limited distrbution the results can be skewed alot (they actually admit it in their disclaimer). You'll notice the list of global top sites always include a bunch of korean site. If you want a high alexa ranking just install the toolbar.

yup. just one bar on FF with java-disabled. Toolbar? who need 'em.
