That does nothing to help people under stand the privacy risks that are on the web everywhere. It just more net scare stories from the main stream TV press, who are trying to win back market share from the Net.
What is far more concerning that a couple of cookies and the default browsers inability to protect you (Internet explorer), is that fact that few people are talking about the upcoming privacy nightmare known as WinXP. With mandated and and built in back channels to microsoft.com for every thing from search, forced system updates, driver checks, and even time sync connections to microsoft.com (unstopable connections), WinXP is fully worthy of the Big Brother title.
