Hi Forum,

I developed a website for a company and had them residing their website on my server. About a month ago, I decided to shut down my server so I gave them a months notice to remove the site and put it elsewhere. The site was backed up on a desktop I wiped clean and sold several months ago. Well, the customer never called and consequentally, the site was shut down by the server. Days later the customer called angry and said he never got my email. I thought it would be easy to go to google and find the cached version of the site and just work with that to restore the site. Unfortunately, the googlebot already updated google and now I need to recreate this guys website.

Some how I need to figure out a way to get the cached version of that website from somewhere. Is this possible? or am I just screwed :)

Pretty irresponsible. But hey, you live and learn!

I'm not sure if there's any way for you to recover the site. Other search engines store older versions of pages. You might want to try Gigablast and Yahoo!

Good luck.

You could try Alexa's Way Back Machine. [archive.org ]
