I´m in the beginning phases of making my huge site, 100 articles so far... many many many hours to go.

One thing I see is missing on the net is a blog which follows someone´s site´s development. His journal if you will.

Are there any of these about?

I´d personally love to read a blog written by any member of WebmasterWorld oncerning their site and its development... their reasoning for adsense leaderboards, there trials and tribualations of pageranks, there slow improvement into a awesome site, how they manage their time, etc.. etc...

There's a project going on at Asterisk* [7nights.com] which is walking through the process of designing a web site for a fictional band.

The first thing I figured would be good to do is to document the project from start to finish as it happens, as opposed to putting it up and talking about it after it was done.

Pretty interesting and informative.

People like Jeffrey Zeldman, Eric Meyer, Douglas Bowman and others usually put something into their blogs about how they approached site design. They seem to change designs often enough so there's bound to be something relatively fresh there.
