Here are what I have: 768/512kbps DSL, 1 web server (2 NICs), 1 SQL Server 2000 database server(1 NIC), WinRoute Firewall 6. We host a JSP-based web site. We have one public IP assigned to web server. The other NIC is 192.168.1.1. Database server IP is 192.168.1.2. My question is if it is possible that I am from outside and try to use SQL Enterprise Manager to access the internal database (192.168.1.2)? If necessary, I can install 2nd NIC to the database server and get another public IP address. But that'll be insecure to expose the Db server. Any comments/suggestions are highly appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
