Did you ever see an absolutly brilliant idea just gone to waste by the person who developed it? I mean, an idea, that if they had just taken a little more time and effort, would have been a great money-maker and service?

I found one of those today. One of my friends told me about this really neat site. The idea is fantastic and super-viral, as can be seen by the quickly increased memberships. The problem is, the "site" is like a ten page site that's sole purpose is to lead you to Y! groups to sign up for this brilliant service.

I just cringe think that if I had had this idea, what I could have done with it. What this person could do with it! if they just took the time. I'm sure the person who thought of this set it up out of the kindness of their heart and doesn't want a penny from it. What they probably don't know is that instead, Y! is making the money off all of their traffic.

Yup. Others have a problem seeing the potential in a project, and shoot it down... until they're hurting for traffic or sales.

sounds like my day job.......

I come up with all kinds of ideas, and some they let me pursue only to drop them later.

So assuming it is not protected by patent, why don't you use the idea yourself?

Or buy the site from them.
