CF Dynamic Pages - Spider Friendly?

Converting all my html to CF dynamic

I am wanting to turn my 10000 page static hmtl city guide website into a dynamic website. Possible in cold fusion. I have noticed some sites that have pages name "page.cfm?id=234" for example are not indexed in Google and show not page rank.
These pages have been around for a while and are linked to from a PR5+ page. Maybe they are index and can be found with a search engine but they just do not hold page rank?
They way we are setting up the website is with a template page and each page brings in variables from a SQL database to create each city page. Many pages derive from this template. The content is different in the body of each page.

Please help before I covert all my pages and possible lose all my future search engine traffic.

Hi Clark,

Try changing your query strings into slashes, so that page.cfm?id=1234 turns into page.cfm/id/1234

That seems to fool the spiders (you just have to make sure you don't have too many variables, as they hesitate to penetrate that far)

I have numerous large sites written in Cold Fusion that are all spidered and indexed by Google. Google says on their site that dynamic pages will be spidered as long as the url isn't too long (too many variables) but I've seen some very long url strings in Google results.

This may have been beaten to death but I have one last observation.

Any url with a www.url.com/test.cfm?=123 does not show page rank. But www.url.com/test.cfm does.

Can someone tell me why? And creating a page without the?=123 better in the search engines?
