I have been trying to obtain written permission to use another sites content within an IFRAME with no response at all. I went even set up a sample page for their approval.
Is there an etiquette to this?

I hate to say it, but you're probably getting your answer; "No." If it's a popular site, they are likely to be getting numerous requests of this kind and many publishers (including me) put those RSVPs in the "to do" file -where they never get done.

<added> I get a few in writing, mostly from print publishers. They rarely get answered unless they give a very prominent email address. I prefer very short email requests, listing the urls of the pages or pictures being requested and a brief overview of how they'll be used. Circulation or traffic numbers are nice to know, too. If you're a non-profit or school, that's an important point to make.

Thanks for the bad news. I included 2 links in the email. One to the page I wanted permission for and another to my page for their approval. Server logs don't show them even looking so I guess the answer is "NO"
