Today i accesed my in box to read my mail and one stood out "re your new password" now that made me curious, When i opened the email they even managed to talk me into clicking on a link. the e-mail read.
"dear steven i just remembered i had forgoten to let you see the rest of my site. The calculations and compleated estimetes can be downloaded or viewed. hope this is enough info. speak soon"

now my name isn't steven so i assumed i was receiving someone elses email. Curiosity got the better of me and "CLICK" only to be hit by a barage of windows and popups that re open when closed...i ended up having to re-start. so if they mass mailed this i wonder how much they made from the adverts in the popups.

I have to admit i was impressed.although this sort of thing should never be allowed.

They are getting so tricky with them that you can just press the delete key any more.

It should be a word of warning to everyone to use good email titles. I often put the persons real name in the title now so that it doesn't get a quick delete key.

The ones that get me, are the Whois spammers that read your sites whois info and send you spam based on it. They often start out with your real name so that you read it to see if it is spam or not.

yea i get quite a lot of email with my name on it that is simply spamm. the problem with this sory of spamm is that you cans say for definate that you didnt request it.

i have hever used spamm as a marketing tool amd can honestly say i never will. i have an opt in mailing list that i may use at some point but i feel that it is best use your mailing list as little as possible or people will unsubscripe from it. i would only use it if i felt i could genuinly offer something in return as oposed to some useless site update info.
