Is there anyway to get back into google? I had the webmaster change there link to reflect htpp://www.mysite.com but will google look at this as being a dupicate site?
This seems strange since a high percentage of sites can be reached by either url.

Make sure your non-www site is 301 redirecting to your www site.
That should fix it right up.

I appreciate that bakedjake.
I have heard reports of the 301 messing things up as well. Any more comments greatly appreciated.

My understanding is that a 301 can (sometimes) result in the snippet (description displayed in the search results) being taken from the site the 301 is pointing to but the url displayed is from the site the 301 originates from. This can of course cause problems. However, if all you're doing is 301ing example.com to www.example.com I wouldn't worry about it. I don't believe there are any other issues - at least there haven't been for me.
