Lately I've been spending a lot of time doing split A/B tests on various things at my site, and right now I'm focusing on the order page. Last week I found that shortening the text that describes my free bonus increased sales by almost 20%. Amazing but true. I think the longer description/overview of the bonus was confusing some people and taking away from the overall offer.
Anyway, right now what I'm curious about are testimonials. I have them spread throughout my site, but also several good ones on the order page. My thinking is that a few good testimonials on the order page could be a powerful "nudge" to get them to sign-up. On the other hand, maybe by the time they get to the sign-up page they are already "sold" and the testimonials on the order page only serve to take up valuable space and take away from the final offer.
Anyway have any input on this, or test it? I'm going to be testing it myself this coming week, but just wanted to see what other warriors have to think. While we're on the subject, do you have any other "tips" for the all important final offer/signup page?
Maybe this could turn into a great thread of tips/strategies etc. for optimizing order page. After my last test increased sales by 20% just by simplifying and shortening some text, I'm looking at other ways to remove some of the clutter from the signup page. So I plan on testing everything, one little bit at a time, and anything that doesn't help sales will be removed ...
