Does anybody happen to have a regular email address I could forward an email to.

I got an email from some outfit trying to sell the eBay member list with contact info and need to report it.

The online eBay contact form does not allow me to attach the detailed information that eBay will need to investigate.

Tried that and lo and behold spam@ebay.com actually worked!

This sounds like the same kind of spam that was promoting an "Overture advertisers list" and similar lists. They made it sound like inside info, but it was probably obtained by spidering (if it had anything at all to do with Overture).

The truth about these lists is that they're really just random harvested e-mail addresses - they don't have anything to do with any service, be it ebay users, overture users, whatever.

How do they get away with it? Their logic is who are you going to complain to? If you were to buy one of those lists in the first place, you would obviously be buying it to spam people illegally ... what are you doing to do, complain that the list of emails you bought for spamming wasn't valid? :)

No matter where you send it to, if your email includes an atachement, they will delete your mail and wil never read it. It is a strict Ebay policy.
