You will find the web site for the above company here:
[google.com...]
Didn't spend the time to look at it but the first thing anyone should do is a simple search in Google for something like this.
It'a a site monitoring tool and you or someone must have signed up for it to monitor your site. It's wasting your bandwidth, by the sound of it.
You can find out how to block it [webmasterworld.com]
Keep doing that and your going to get your product added to the curse word list
It's an annoying piece of garbage that gets your thread deleted.
Woah... Why so hostile guys? I have come in WW MANY times asking about some product that is doing bad stuff to one thing or another and never been met with such comments!
I would hope that if I asked what something was, you wouldn't accuse me of advertising that product. After all, he's a newbie. Let's ask before we jump him!
Oh, and Askady, since my brethren here at WW were so impolite and quick to judge, I'd like to extend a "welcome to Webmaster World". Here you will find a HELPFUL community that can answer just about any question you have. Let this thread be a lesson to you, there is no mentioning of your own products allowed, and if you are asking about one, be sure to disavow any connection to that product.
Happy searching, and again, Welcome.

My apologies guys. I did not see the original post before it was edited. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. I should have known better than to jump senior WW members.
Sorry to be the one to say it, but threads like this one (missing edited posts with no acknowledgement of edits) make you guys look like a bunch of bullies, and discourage participation. I've seen a couple in the past few months as a paying member, and got the same bad taste each time.
yeah, I hate that. If there is censorship, it really should be noted as such or else it contributes to the misunderstandings.

Hear Hear! It made me look kinda bad too! I've seen in the past something to the effect of "<<edited to remove product endorsement>>" or something like that. I'd be nice if the editors would keep up that habit so we know what's going on.
I've recently seen entire posts disappear (not edited w/o our knowing like this, just GONE). There needs to be a standard and stick to it.
When this one showed up, it really bugged me. Maybe it was legit, but it did't look it. And since they never returned, I still think it was board spam. Yes, perhaps we did chase her away but if she's going to run a website, she needs thicker skin than that.

I have seen a couple completely vanish as well. I trust the mods here, so I let it pass as a reasonable way to manage what was percieved as an untenable situation. I still feel this way, but I wouldn't want to post comments to find out that I was missing pieces of the puzzle.
This thread is probably now way over the TOS line - so I'll stop.
board spam
Ok, Stupid question....
What SERP benefit could someone see from mentioning their product here?
A G search on "widget" produces no WW posts within the first five pages. You'd think that WW would rank SOMEWHERE for as much as we talk about widgets!
Besides, products posted in WW are usually causing a problem. Doesn't seem like good publicity to me.

Well, on the original thread, one of us, maybe me, posted a link to the site. Not uncommon around here. as in, "hey, what's this" - "this is what it is [somethingxhere.com"...]
But beyond that, they are meant to be a soft sell ad, nothing to do with SERPs. Just, this is a big gathering place for people who run websites. If you post a question like "what's this?", all of us are looking it up or reading what someone else found on the board and thinking "maybe I should look that service up".
Good maketing, I suppose. I'll admit that when I have nothing else to do I do a bit of it, but it bugs me when they try to be sneaky about it. If it's an ad, just say it's an ad.
