I am considering using Elance for some of my webmaster projects. But I have a few questions...

If I put up an Elance project, what is the cost? When do I pay? What happens if I cancel a project? Does it still cost me?

How do I get to see the full details of other projects posted? Does it cost?

jon- I'm considering registering to offer services on elance. Hopefully you'll put an announcement in Commercial Exchange before you go to Elance, right? :)

It is free to post, you just pay for the services rendered by the service provider - he/she pays a percentage to Elance.

>When do I pay?
It depends on the service provider. Some require 1/3 to 1/2 at beginning and the rest later.

>What happens if I cancel a project? Does it still cost me?
It does not cost you to cancel a project.

>How do I get to see the full details of other projects posted? Does it cost?
You have to first sign up with Elance.

Ok, I have posted a project. I chose the basic option. But now I can't contact the bidders on a message board. Is that only available if you use the Select option and put $25 down?

If so, can I somehow convert my project to Select or do I have to cancel it and start again?

Regards,

Jon

Got the answer now. I must not have been logged in hence I couldn't see the icon on the right hand side to contact the bidder.
