Since I started today we have deleted or redirected into the server delete box hundreds of the w32.netsky.p virus.

What happened this morning to unleash this increased activity?

Are people never going to learn to not open attachments or have current AV protection?

What a waste of time sorting through them all or waiting for them to download.

I can recommend an ISP that takes care of that for you in their own sweet paternalistic way ...

I'm not getting a lot of legitimate mail today because my ISP (it's not the big "A") has decided to block what appears to be hundreds of mail servers.

I haven't seen a legitimate sending address on a virus in over a year - everything is spoofed. How can ISP's block domains when they are almost 100% of the time not responsible for the spam or virus.

In many cases they are too cheap or too lazy to change their software or protocols.

I haven't had a problem either at home or at work. I guess a dozen layers of protective gear works....

We've received almost a hundred of these in the last two days, as have our clients. We increased our Spam Assassin settings late yesterday but a few messages are still trickling in. The email address of the "sender" is replicated as a domain or email address that's familiar. We found out our clients are replying to the "sender", telling them that they're spreading a virus.

This has taken up so much our time in regard to educating and tech support!
