Attacks on my firewall

Should I report them?

For a couple of months I have been reporting almost all spammails through spamcop's reporting system. I cannot know for sure that this has actually made any difference, but it is a fact that I get less spam now.

I have also from time to time reported some IP's that sent viruses to me. This is more difficult as I do not know of any reporting system that makes the reporting more or less automatic. But it can be done and it seems to work.

So now I have come to think of a third kind of attacks: Those computers that are attacking different ports on other computers that are connected to the Internet.

My firewall seems to resist all those intruders who have attacked it until now so they are not really my problem, but it is very likely that some of them attack other computers that are badly protected or not protected at all. Ought I for the sake of the web community report those attacks? And how and where?

Is [dshield.org...] the sort of thing you're looking for? I don't have any experience of submitting logs to them, but do keep an eye on their reports.

Beat me to it py9jmas, I keep up to date with Dshield when ever I can. It's a great resource :)

Thank you indeed. This looks really interesting and seems to be better than anything I had dared hope for. And welcome to WebmasterWorld, py9jmas.
