About.com No Longer Serving Pop-Ups

Should be good for us

I like about.com and have long felt that their incessant pop-ups were hindering their site stickiness (not everybody has a pop-up blocker).

About.com: It's about time. :)

It should be good for us because it may potentially open up another traffic avenue.

That's an understatement! I was avoiding links to About info in other SEs SERPs because of this...even after I had pop-ups squashed in most of my browsers. So, it's safe to go back now? ;) phew

I had no idea their site was so fast underneath the constant bombardment of pop-ups!

Good riddence to the popups :) Much enjoyable, user friendly, faster loading experience.
