I am new to the forum and much of the information shared has been very helpful. I am also new to the webmaster/web design business. One of my first clients in a 60% owner in her business. The other partner is the money partner. He controls the money and has secured the domain names. He will be the one to approve the contract. My question is this... The two partners are feuding and the majority owner wants to be on her own. If the minority partner pays to get the site up and running and is paying me for maintenance, how do I protect my work and the site so that when the partners split, the majority partner will be able to continue with the site that I have designed even though the business name may change?

Long question and kind of confusing, but this business needs a site and she wants me to do the work. Any advice would be appreciated...

Thank You.

IMO it's not your problem what happens to the site if the partners split. Once you've delivered the product and been paid it's up to the partners to fight out their differences and deal with the assests if the company dissolves. If the majority partner winds up without a site and needs another one built then it's an opportunity for a second contract for you.

welcome to WebmasterWorld btw :)

Oilman,

Thanks. That has been the consensus so far. Thank you for the welcome.
