sattelite internet access

Anybody have feedback on sattelite ISP

Hi all,
Due to being out in the country in WI there is no cable dsl etc has anybody here got feedback on direcway high speed internet access
is it any good and is it reliable am currently looking at the new small business version
$2000 install and equipment and $200 per month
is it worth it

I had it for a year. Nothing else was available.

It was much better than dialup. I had the consumer version ($60.00 per/month) and I really didn't have any problems with it. It does go down in severe storms.

$2K for set up seems like a lot. I think I paid $600.

If you want, I can send you my two-way modem (sticky me). I'm not sure if it will save you much. And you can have my dish too. I live in chicago. All you have to do is get on my roof and take it down.

I am on Direcway satelite, it is far superior to dial-up but not the speed of cable or dsl.

I am also on their consumer version, but the price you mention seems high.
