Microsoft Word keyboard/menu shortcuts changed!

Sorry, don't really know where else to stick this. I'm doing a web localisation project, cutting and pasting a lot of translated text in Word into webpages using a HTML editor. For some reason, Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V are suddenly no longer working in Word now. Instead, the options have changed to Ctrl-Ins and Shift-Ins. You won't believe how much slower this is, since my text editor uses Ctrl-C and Ctrl-V and it's so much easier Alt-Tabbing between the two apps, when the cut and paste shortcuts are the same for each. I've looked through the Word Help file, Tools -> Options, looked on the net etc. and I can't find anything to indicate why this has changed and how to change it back! Can anyone help?
