I booked the domain name of my site and also took a dedicated server from the same guy. He is an ENOM reseller. He charged me an obscene amount for the setup as well as bandwidth, i wont go into the details, suffice it to say it was ridiculous. Since I knew him pretty well, I did not check with competitors. On comparison, a server on ev1 more than halved the hosting charges.

The person refused to reduce charges, forcing me to get a server from ev1. I have my domain names password but how do i transfer it to ev1? since it is shown as "locked". Since the person is enom's reseller i feel requesting enom wont help. Also i feel that the changed password would be accessible to him, since he could just file for password lost and being the reseller would get access to it. The contact information for the domain is on my name. Is there anything else that i need to be careful over?

Now this guy wants a termination fee,for "violating" the contract whereas there was none. believe me folks when I tell you I have already paid him many times over.

also how do i set the IP to the new server once the transfer is done. Please reply as soon as possible folks. Your help is really needed.

at this point I would simply move the domain and wash your hands of the whole thing. If the domain is in your name there is nothing he can do about keeping it. Don't worry about your IP - you'll get a new at the new host. If there are continuing issues you should take it up with ENOM - I'm sure they'd love to know if one of their resellers is giving the program a black eye.

Yes I want to move the domain but it is showing status as "locked" How do i unlock a domain. logging into the enom website with my site url and password does not give any option for unlocking it.

Whizkiddo, call customer support for the registrar. They should be able to explain how to log in or offer a procedure to enable you to unlock the domain.
