any ideas out there,

looking for unlimited domains, unlimited accounts, easy and simple to setup adn maintain.

We're using Marak Mail Server, the pro license with all the trimmings (antivirus, groupware (w/ calender), anti-spam, IM) was about 1.5 grand.

Have been super happy with it. One nice feature is that is uses plain text files for server settings, allowing one to easily change stuff dynamically with other programs.

how was the installation, nice and painless?

I use Merak also and highly approve. E-mail service is kind of annoying but the US office in California will answer quick questions over the 800 line!
