Hello all,

I'm just trying to gather some information about and Mail Server software that is available out there.

I run an Intranet for a school and we would like to offer a small number of email accounts for select students to create an email pen pal system. Rather than use hotmail or yahoo we want to be able to keep records of messages for security reasons. Having NO budget for this i was hoping some of you could direct me to some opensource windows based mail servers that would allow the students to login using a web based client.

Hope i'm not asking for too much but searched around for stuff and theres thousands of options and i'd like some personal recommendations if possible.

It doesn't need any whistles or bells just a simple send an email receive an email will do.

Thanks in advance

I know that smartermail (do a google search) has a free version for one domain and ten users, the web based interface is really nice and simple to use.

The cost for the 250 users and over versions isn't crippling as well in case ten users is too few.

Also have a read through these links, you might find something of use
