Low traffic site: worth trying to sell?

I have a site in one of the more profitable (and thus competitive) niches that I built several years ago. I had a professional design it, then I wrote articles for it, got links, put up some Adsense ads, and then just pretty much left it alone.

It gets a bit of traffic, and makes a hundred or so a month from Adsense. No biggie, but I'm wondering if it might be of value to someone out there. It has a few things going for it, those being seniority, some rankings, and some decent original content.

Do you think there's enough there to warrant spending time trying to sell the site, or should I just chuck it?

It makes $100 a month from adsense and you want to chuck it? Feel free to chuck it my way if you must but I would suggest selling it if you truly don't want it anymore. You'll need the data to prove your traffic/revenue figures for the past 6 months or more to get a good price for it.

If that's too much work I'd suggest not selling it and letting it continue making you $100 each month :)

You can try to sell it on Flippa. If all traffic is organic, you can sell it for $1500-2000.

For all those holding out for multiples of 5x net profit in today's volatile markets etc., this is an example of a realistic price - seems to be in this case roughly 1.2x net annual income.

And yes, please do post how you / where you sold the site. Did you use escrow? Did you meet the buyer?

I sold it on Flippa. All in all I guess it didn't work out too bad. I got $100 to $150 a month for several years for my efforts, and then $1500 in the end.

There were a couple dozen watchers, but only two or three people bidding.
