Hi Everyone: I am wondering if anyone can help me? My site has been hacked by cyberlords. When I try to load my site in Internet Explorer either it can't be found or I get this stupid message:

"cyberlords-irc.brasnet.org/#cyberlords Greetz: YC The_danz r3d_nos3 terror_br DeepSecurity / Special: Cr4shyng SyS0"

I worked hard to get my site online with very little website knowledge so this is very frustrating. Does anyone have any ideas how I can restore I.E. so I can get my site loading again? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks shylo.

Contact your webhost and let them know that you think your site has been hacked.

Did that but their servers were down and right now support is not responding to emails. Since I run an e-commerce business I can't live without getting to my site through I.E. Plus, I keep getting told that the problem is on my computer. Yet every computer I look at my site from pulls up the same message. I can't figure out where the problem lies. Server or my computer?

Sounds to me like they are having a major problem.

Do they not have a phone number?

Looks like it's a server problem. Paste a part of that messsage into Googles search box and you will see that you are not alone. Looks as though you were hacked. Do you happen to have all of your files backed up locally on your PC?

Thanks Guys. I'm glad to hear that someone agrees with me that this is a problem on the server, because I have done everything imaginable here with my computer only to get the same results. None! And yes I do have my files fully backed up on my hard drive. As far as a phone number goes I'll have to look into that. Question: If the server has been hacked would I be right to say that this problem should appear in all browsers and not just I.E.? I'm still really confused.

Yes, it should affect all browsers, does it?

No it does not, only I.E. Which left me today to do some more checking. It seems the server problem has been cleared up. Everyone (but myself) can access my site. I get a Can't find error page. I've done everything I can think of to clear this up. Cleared the cashe, cleared the temp file in windows, ran my antivirus, ran an ad ware, cleared cookie, you name it I've done it. But I still have this problem. Any other ideas? Right now I'm going to dwonload I.E. over again to see if that helps. Thanks.

I had a slightly similar problem, just the other day. I eventually reloaded the default settings for ie and all seems well. Mind you my othr browsers had the same problem too.....

Maybe you should scan your pc for spyware with Adaware? And then to see if you have a trojan in your PC try in a dos window type " netstat -AN " and see how many outgoing connections do you have & to whom are you connecting to, if it's other than the port 80 or 110 and you local IP 127.0.0.1 then you should maybe use Norton to scan & remove them.

Other than that, maybe get a personal firewall?

A personal fire wall is being looked into for sure! I did run ad aware...nothing and my antivirus...nothing. However my server is down right now...so I guess I wait. Thanks for all the ideas! chylo.

Hi again: I still trying to figure things out. My site is back online. Netscape is still working fine, and Internet Explorer is still...well, not working fine. This evening I reset my ISP address and for some reason this actually helped. I can now get to my site, just can't move around it very well. Does this bring any ideas to anyone? See you tomorrow chylo.

I plugged that Cyberlords message into Google and found a bunch of other sites that have also been hacked with that exact same message, apparently.

You should really phone your web host and/or find a smart computer guy to help diagnose your problem. It's conceivable your ISP discovered the problem and recovered from a backup, but the symptoms you are describing are all over the place.

You could always change ISPs and be done with the whole mess for good.

Believe me, I am ready with a new hosting company if this happens again. For now though my site is back up and running. I still can't get to it via I.E. but I can through Netscape. Friends can get to it via I.E. So I guess for now I'll just go with that. Next time my computer needs serviceing I'll get my tech to have a look. Thanks for all your help everyone. Have a great weekend.
