I have been getting this service.bfast.com address loading on my web browser when I'm trying to go to a link to other web sites. It's been happening for about a month and it's getting so that it does this more than 50% of the time when I try to go to a new web site. When this address does load, it only get a white screen saying the server can not be connected to ( the standard error message Windows displays when you can't connect to a server What the hell is this thing and how do I get rid of it before I snap!
Help Jim O

Those "service.bfast.com" links are standard affiliate links from BeFree.

They usually forward to the destination site with no problems. I would suspect that you have some sort of ad blocker operating that prevents the landing page from coming up properly. Links from the major affiliate networks are common targets for interference by ad blocking programs.

I call that vandalism, but that's another discussion ...

Anyway, try turning off your ad blocker and I'll bet the links work properly.

Hi, and thanks for responding, the thing is I don't have any add blockers set up on my system at this time and I have done a registry scan just a day ago with Registry first aid which finds leftovers and orphan registry entries and removes them. right now I'm scanning my system with adaware to see if this maybe caused by a dataminer program that has taken control over what they want me to see. I'll tell you what, if I find out it's something like this that has taken over my PC without my knowing it or installing their program and this is bundled with the program, There will be hell to pay and maybe even some money too.

Thanks Jim O

Howdy,
It took me longer to figure out how to join this site and relocate your post than it did to get an answer to your problem, but anyway....
I had the same problem, as I suspect thousands of people are also having, of being refused a connection by service.bfast.com when browsing vendor links.
The problem is not caused by an ad blocker software but by good old Kazaa. Kazaa thinks it's a pop up along with a few hundred other things it doesn't like.
Anyway, go to [bookfinder4u.com...] and you can find out how to edit your c:\blah\blah\blah\HOSTS file to get things working again.
Note: The HOSTS file does not have an extension so make sure that you don't try to save it as a .txt file after editing in notepad.
Well... my back hurts and I'm going away now...

If it's Kazaa that's interfering with the BeFree links, then it's an ad blocker even if it doesn't call itself that.
