About six months ago I launched a site filled with content pages, optimized for highly demanded credit cards keywords which promotes credit cards. I knew the topic was very competitive but I still thought if I could make a content rich site with lots of pages, my site could receive decent traffic. So I wrote 150 of content pages which are optimized. I submitted to all engines and directories and Inktomi PFI. So it's been six months and my site only gets 50 unique visitors a day.....which is basically nothing. Did I make a huge mistake by making another credit cards site? Or should there be more pages and more content? I also noticed that my competitors (less pages) that score in top #10 for credit cards keywords have a lot of sites linking to them.... 10,000+ does that explain it? Any comments anybody?
Thanks

People think that building a great site will attract attention. Not so. Building word-of-mouth buzz will attract attention to even a crummy site.
6 months is hardly enough time to develop a business, and developing a business is what you are doing.
