How can I find generate clients?

I was wondering if any of you have some suggestions on how I can promote my web host and generate more business. I have submitted my site to a bunch of hosting directories and the search engines. Do any of you have additional ideas? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

A webhosting business is just like any other business.

A widget is still a widget.

Look at all possible avenues of marketing. Don't rely solely on hits from search engines or webhost directories. And try not to be discouraged that there are thousands and thousands of web hosts out there.

Start locally, visit every business in your town and drop a card, bring cards to parties, visit school bands, choirs, football teams. Go to senior centers and show sites with grandchildren on them.

Sell, sell, sell, sell.
