CD Won't Copy

A client of mine wants clips of his CD to play on the site I am building for him. The CD was recorded at a concert. The clips are in .cda format.

1. First I tried to copy the CD onto another CD. I got the message that there wasn't enough room. I know this is not true because this was a new CD with plenty of room. I never get problems like this when trying to copy CDs onto other CDs.

2. I then tried to copy the CD onto my harddrive. That seemed to work. However, when I then attempted to play any of the songs off my harddrive (with Windows Media Player), I got an error message that the song is not in a proper format. When I attempted to play the exact same songs off the original CD, with the same software, they played fine.

I do not know what to do. Solutions welcome. Also, any suggestions as to forums more suitable for this question are welcome.

I'm not a real audio expert but it sounds like you need to convert the files to another format. If you have the latest version of Window Media Player you can use that to copy the CD to your computer and it will convert the files to wma format. Just copying the files over from the cd by dragging and dropping them won't do any conversion.
