Does anyone have any advice about affiliate programs. I'm wondering if this may be a good idea, affiliating with sites compatible with mine.

Well I think it's difficult to make a *living* off them -- BUT I do have a couple that make several hundred/month. Supposedly some people make even more. But you have to be smart about it. You can't just put up a few links and start collecting checks.
I see affiliates as one piece of the puzzle! Focus on content!

Be prepard to start off making very little. It's a winner takes all game. There are some that make a lot of money at it. Myself, I'm getting better at it, but it's very difficult. You really need to be shrewd and work hard.

They are very hard to get any money from Ive found anyway, if your going to spend hours writing and optimising, why dont you just start your own Ecom site?
Its much more profitable.

If your site has valuable content, apply for Adsense (much better than affiliate programs).
