lynx as a spider

I recently ran across a script that uses lynx for spidering. Is that unusual, or does that explain why lynx is often seen in log files?

I don't think it is uncommon. I think a lot of the times you see lynx it is an automated process or part of a larger program. Not to say that people don't use lynx.

Personally I use lynx for seeing what kind of presentation I am making with my HTML to the search engines.
