I have a small reseller account with 100 mb space. I have packed in 12 accounts with 7 mb space each (these are special little accounts just for a certain site). Now my clients have gotten the following notice through Squirelmail:

The account with the username 'XXXXXX', is running out of disk space.
Please remove some files from this account, or ask the administrator to
increase your disk quota.
You have currently used 89.14% of your disk space.

Have I done something wrong/dangerous? Is there something wrong with one of my reseller clients using 89.14% of their disk space?

I don't think there is anything wrong with using that percentage of your disk space but you should upgrade it, just to be safe. Just my opinion ;)

I would prefer my host to remind me when I get close to my limit. I don't like the fact that your clients got the reminder, however.

I just noticed the same thing on a couple of email accounts on one of my domains. I went in and cleared out the inbox on the email accounts and the notices went away.
If these are client accounts, try getting them to access their email and download the messages. You can also ftp to the server and check the accounts to see how much space they are using in their email.

luck,

Nothing except that they could very easily exceed their mailbox limit with a single medium size attachment - as Robert Adams said, get them to clear out their mailboxes.
