Just discovered yesterday that my first ever website done in 2000 is now 1st over 2.280.000 sites in Google for 2 keywords ([country] guide) with a PR of 5/10.
1/ I do not understand why it moves to 90th position for the same two keywords but in different order (guide [country])?
2/ Should I try to get it back considering the ranking?

Be happy with the number one rank!
I believe (but not certain) that the order of words IS important (from my experience). If you want to be number 1 for the opposite order of only 2 keywords, do a "almost duplicate" page for the reverse order of words. Don't exactly duplicate the page, ;) but do change every two word keyword phrase to match the reverse order on the page. Be sure to change the page significantly, but maximize the reverse order of the keywords for each phrase used on the page; that way you do not (hopefully) get hit with a duplicate page.

Of course, either way you can try the duplicate page approach. My only concern would be whether your new page can be competitive for (guide [country]) without your current back-links. If the traffic is much larger for that order and the competition not too fierce, you might want to take risks, moving your current page and replacing your currently #1 page with the new keywords. Research!
